NFC Card Manual
Step 1: Preparation: The "Engine" Setup
To execute the Media Control: Play task, Android phones require a helper app to translate the command.
For Android (Honor, Realme, Samsung, Xiaomi, etc.):
Download and install NFC Tools and NFC Tasks from the Google Play Store.
For iPhone:
According to our supplier, there are no need for iPhone users to download anything as it should be automatically turned on. However, if the card won't work, please follow the same instructions for Android phones. This product has not been tested on iPhones.
Step 2: Hardware Activation
Ensure NFC is physically turned on in your device settings.
Honor / Realme / Huawei / Samsung / Xiaomi: Swipe down your Control Center/Quick Settings and tap the NFC icon. Alternatively, search for "NFC" in Settings and toggle it ON.
iPhone: According to our supplier, there are no need for iPhone users to download anything as it should be automatically turned on. However, if the card won't work, please follow the same instructions for Android phones. This product has not been tested on iPhones.
The "First Tap" Configuration (Android Fix)
The first time you tap the card, your phone may ask which app to use. This is a critical step.
1. Tap the card to the back of your phone (near the camera).
2. Select "NFC Tasks" from the list of options.
3. Tap "Always" or "Set as Default."
Result: The popup will disappear, and Spotify will auto-play instantly on every future tap.
Troubleshooting: "App is Removed" or "Only Google App showing"
If you recently clicked "Reset App Preferences" on your Honor or Android phone, the "NFC Tasks" link is broken. You may see an error saying "App is removed" or be redirected to a browser/app store.
The Fix:
1. Verify NFC Tasks is still installed.
2. Tap the card again.
When the phone asks which app to use, do NOT choose Chrome, Google, or the brand's App Market.
3. Choose NFC Tasks and select "Always."
4. If it still redirects incorrectly, go to Settings > Apps > Default Apps > Opening Links and ensure Spotify is set to "Open supported links."
Where to Tap (Phone Alignment)
The 13.56MHz signal is strongest when aligned with the phone's internal antenna:
Honor / Huawei / iPhone: Tap the card against the top edge (near the camera).
Samsung / Xiaomi / POCO: Tap the card against the center-back of the device.
Case Note: Very thick or metallic cases used by many PH users may interfere with the signal. If it doesn't read, try removing the case.
